On Saturday, February 16, Clark Science Olympiad traveled to Ithaca, New York, to compete at the 5th Annual Cornell Invitational. Our 3rd and 4th teams took 21st and 30th, respectively, and we even walked away with medals in 4 events: Experimental Design, Mission Possible, Parasitology, and Sounds of Music. Cornell marked the last of 5 invitationals that Clark Science Olympiad participated in during the 2018-2019 season. This upcoming weekend we compete at home in the Nevada State tournament, and with each of our 4 teams having competed in 2 invitationals this year, we could not be more prepared.

This past Saturday, February 9, 2019, Clark's Black and Gold teams competed at the highly reputable Golden Gate Invitational held at the University of California, Berkeley. After competing on the opposite end of the country at the MIT Invitational in January, expectations and predictions for this west coast competition were high. Clark effectively blew these expectations out of the water, medalling in 13 events, with an 11th place finish from the Gold team, and an impressive 3rd place trophy from the Black team. Needless to say, these accomplishments were unprecedented and by far the most successful performance Clark Science Olympiad has had at such a reputable tournament. We feel nothing but gratification, pride, and determination as we set our sights on victory at State and success at Nationals!
